Camfridge selected as one of Europe's leading Clean Technology companies joins “Cleantech 100”

18/09/2008

"We are delighted that the potential of Camfridge - which we saw 3 years ago - has been recognised in this way."

Camfridge is officially one of Europe's top 100 privately held Clean Technology companies, and is ranked top it's category of energy efficiency electrical devices in The Guardian/Library House "Cleantech 100".

The company is developing a core high-efficiency gas-free technology for refrigeration and cooling applications, which can be rapidly configured for a range of end-user requirements. In addition, Camfridge's solution offers a  50% reduction in energy consumption which is competitive on cost and reduces noise, recyclability and  maintenance.

The company had secured initial investment in 2004 from the University of Cambridge, and then subsequently from early stage investors including Nesta,  Cambridge Capital Group, and the Oxford Trust.

The 100 European companies, selected by a highly qualified advisory board of investors, are exemplars of high growth companies capable of delivering a strong positive impact on the environment.  Companies were chosen on the basis of their marketability, high growth potential, green impact and ability to disrupt the market.

Camfridge will present at the NESTA sponsored Essential CleanTech Conference on 25th September at the Hotel Russell in London, when the CleanTech 100 list is officially announced.

Camfridge CEO Neil Wilson said today:

"Being included in the Cleantech 100 is fantastic for us and recognises the enormous market potential of our technology and the great team we have at Camfridge working to deliver market success."

David Hunter, head of NESTA Investments commented  "We are delighted that the potential of Camfridge - which we saw 3 years ago - has been recognised in this way."
