Ian McIsaac

Ian McIsaac is a chartered accountant who has spent much of his career as a partner at Deloitte, retiring from the firm in 2005. His background is in corporate finance and re-organisation services, where he has held a number of senior management positions. He worked for a variety of the firm’s major clients in the financial services industry, other commercial enterprises and the public sector. In his last major role he was managing partner in global risk management at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, the firm’s global organisation.

Since leaving Deloitte, Ian has been appointed as Finance Director and Registered Treasurer of the Conservative Party. He is also a member of the Party board.

Ian has also worked for periods as finance director and chief executive of a number of companies in real estate, real estate corporate finance, and construction.

He was one of the founders and first Chairman of the Society of Turnaround Professionals, the professional body for company doctors and advisers to underperforming companies.

For many years Ian has been engaged in international development. He has been involved with the humanitarian organisation Care International for more than 20 years as their UK board member, UK chairman, and international board member. He has also held a number of non-executive roles with DFID (Department for International Development). These included working as a member of its policy advisory group and as chairman of its Financial Deepening Challenge Fund, which provided grants to support innovation in financial services in the developing world.

Currently, Ian is a Governor of Sutton’s Hospital in Charterhouse and a board member and trustee of the City Disputes Panel.
